Arild and I took off early on Sunday morning for Kjerag.  It's a rock plateau which rises 1000 meters straight up from Lysefjord. It's a big, steep hike to the top.  The round trip took 4 hours with a couple stops for lunch and taking cover from small storms.

The start of the trail, which goes straight up for what seems like forever!

Arild taking a look at the hike ahead of us.

Looking down on the famous road - it has the most curves of any in Norway.

Up, up, up

Trying to show these deep cracks that you have to jump over but it doesn't show up that well.

A waterfall near Kjeragbolten

There are three sheep grazing in the patch of green on top, and a nice smooth rock face that Eric would love to climb down below.

Kjeragbolten - we decided not to go out and stand on it that day, maybe next time!

We had a nice dinner at the Eagle's Nest afterward.  Then the skies opened up and poured all the way home.  Glad we were in the car by then and not on the trail!
