Depending on how you look at it, I was either very practical or a terrible wife. While Eric was sick and miserable in our hotel, I went on a day-tour of Los Angeles. Here are the highlights of my day as a tourist. |
|
We started in Marina Del Rey at Fisherman's Village. | Then to Venice Beach - this is the famous open-air gym on the beach where Governor Arnold used to work out. |
Surf's up! | I could have stayed on the beach all day. |
Happy toes in the surf. |
A community garden where you can rent a little plot of ground. I'm sorry, but that seems very sad to me. Everyone should have a yard! |
The tiny dog park in the community where our tour guide lived. She was not pleased with the doggie space or the fence height. |
|
A long line of Lamborghinis - or some kind of expensive
car. I'm not as impressed by ostentatiousness as I guess I'm supposed to
be. |
|
Rodeo drive, again, I don't get what's the big deal. | More Rodeo drive. |
I did like the Farmer's Market and the history display about the Gilmore Oil company. It told of California's rich oil history and the growth of a dairy farm into Mobile Oil Company. |
|
Mann's Chinese Theater - it was being prepared for a movie opening so most of the hand prints were under a red carpet. |
I guess I don't have to caption this one. |
I was very excited to see the L.A. Dream Center - a great ministry run by Tommy Barnett and his son, both of which have visited our church as guest speakers. They do great work. |
The skyline. |
The original mission that started the city of L.A. (I think!) | |
I took these two pictures of a short little rail line
called, "Angel's Flight" for my sister. Eric and I left very early on Tuesday morning and finally
made it home around 7pm Central time. No matter the travel issues, we were so thankful to be home
and to have been a part of such a great trip. |
