This was the second day of the Leadership Conference.  This time Eric and I got to attend the whole thing and it was very good. During the conference, a team went back to the orphanage that they painted on Thursday to put the finishing touches on the building.  I have a few pictures from that thanks to Gretchen.

That afternoon we all went to the dedication ceremony for the orphanage.  It was very moving.  Then later that night it was time for another night of Festival.  Fun!!

Morning devotionals in our favorite hallway.
Sometimes they were VERY early!
The backdrop on the stage at the Leadership Conference.

The kids were all doing this little dance during praise & worship.

When we learned it they made a few of us get on stage and dance for
the whole auditorium.  (Thankfully I got to stay put!)

It was VERY hot in there, especially up on stage.

Everywhere we went, Joe ended up fixing technical sound
issues.  Here Sam's mike kept falling out of the stand.

It was great to see them really worshipping, they were totally into it.

Pastor Terry gave a great talk
about getting out of the boat.

The Bible in Khmai - how cool looking is that?

These kids were a riot - they acted as if we had all been friends for ages.

Pastor David prayed over all the kids and the young people.  He spoke over a few
of them and it was extremely moving.

The young people down front for prayer.  Recognize Soviet in the center?
Our faithful translator Sam is slightly to the right and further back as well.

Jason, a children's pastor, was busy helping
with the kids at this point so Eric took over
  duties as videographer.

Jen, helping to contain our new little friends.  Next we all took the stage to speak briefly about why we went to Cambodia.

A shaky picture (taken from the stage) of the pastors and the
 kids taking a self-portrait.
At the end of the festival, the kids were very anxious to be the
subject of more pictures!

I needed to pee but couldn't bring myself to use this
facility.  Little did I know, this was one of the cleanest
 "squatters" I would find!!

While all this was going on, about 10 of our people
were putting the finishing touches on the orphanage
they had painted earlier.

Most of what they did was leveling and landscaping the area. Not having many tools, they got very creative!

Looks great, doesn't it?!  Trying valiantly to clean up afterward - they were
heading to the Leadership Conference from there.

One of the sweet orphan kids
in the door of his soon-to-be
 new home.

We went back to the hotel for lunch, then to the
Ty Muoy Village Hope Center for the dedication ceremony.

Eric & Andrew were enlisted to help carry a large speaker
to the presentation area.  If only we'd known it wasn't really
needed - they had the sound needs well covered!

A view of the front door and the plaque beside the door.

Here we are, settling in and joking with the orphans. See what I mean about the sound? It was a tiny area with a TON of speakers!

Two of the sweet girls who sang for us. Then the orphans did a song for us.  Aren't they adorable?!!

The songs had cute hand movements that went along with them.

Here Pastor David shares with the crowd.

The ribbon cutting ceremony.

The pastor gave two gifts of banners to show their thanks.

He said the greatest thing to us, "I reached up my hand and
prayed for help and Church of the Harvest took that hand and
helped me."

A view of the inside of the orphanage -
it is not quite finished yet, but it's close!

Here we all are inside the orphanage on a tour.

The Pastor tells a story of the impact that was made on the neighbors.  They
were amazed that Americans would travel all that way to spend days doing
labor for the benefit of orphans.  Of course, we were glad to do it, but to them
it seemed very surprising.

Here our translator hands out pictures that some of the American kids had
created for the Cambodian children.

Those kids were so cute, and so well behaved!

A close-up of the plaque on the building.

The translator reading one of the pictures to the children.

Lauren, LaShonda, and Sam - doing a little impromptu music. Three of our great interpreters - Sam, Lymon, and Lin.

We went back to the hotel to change and then it was off for another festival night.  Woo hoo!

My friend Autumn is gifted at taking
pictures of kids - she got this great
shot during one of the rainy periods.
I thought that little girl was too beautiful to believe.

Remember these guys?  Our friends from the Leadership Conference
joined us for the festival too.

Our team, doing a great job.

They start carnival workers early in Cambodia!

Erin - glad to have a less buggy evening than the
previous night, when bugs had been everywhere!

John & Joe - doing what they do so well.

A look at the crowd during a break in the action.

This was the first night they did a combined set of
New Life and our team sharing the stage.  It was
awesome!  They alternated the songs, one verse in
Khmai and one in English, the crowds loved it!
(And so did we)
