Memorial Weekend 2002

 Back to Home Page

A gang of us got together for a little trip to the Hill Country for Memorial Day.  We started the weekend with a concert - Robert Earl Keen's Texas Uprising.  Nine great acts in an outdoor amphitheater in Selma, TX - not the least of which was my beloved Cowboy Mouth.

The next day we did a float trip down the Guadalupe River on the busiest float day of the year.  It was crazy, but we had a blast!  We spent the night in Austin and headed home the following day.  It was a very good way to spend a long weekend.

Here we are at the show

Ricky Skaggs and Nashville Thunder

Rob Savoy, Cowboy Mouth bassist

Fred LeBlanc - lead singer of Cowboy Mouth and one of my very favorite artists.

This was in the San Antonio newspaper
See Eric in the bottom right corner??!!!

Fred came out to watch Robert Earl Keen and stood two rows behind us.  He saw me taking pictures of him and he smiled for my camera.
Unfortunately, that one came out all blurry.  Darn it!!

Robert Earl Keen, always a favorite

The Grand Finale - this shows Fred, Robert Earl, and Charlie Robison

Fred, belting it out

This is a professional shot of the finale that came up as the "Featured Concert" on Pollstar one day.

The water was very cold!

These were our friends from the shuttle bus, and their giant waterproof boom box named
El Pedro Grande.  What a crazy bunch!

Rex and Lisa enjoyed mooning people We were loving this little dog, what a sweetie!

Here, Mark & Tammy are stuck.  We assume he is
