Christmas in
Oklahoma December 23 - 28, 2002 |
||
We left beautiful, sunny, 70-degree temps in
Houston to travel into snow back home in Oklahoma. Snow is no fun in
Oklahoma! We don't know how to drive on it so it's very unsafe.
Luckily we made it from the airport in Tulsa to Mom & Dad's house safely,
and it melted off the roads by Christmas Day.
We had a nice visit with my family and exchanged lots of neat gifts.
We also enjoyed a big dinner on Christmas Day, thanks to my Mom and her good
cooking. |

Looking out at the snow from our front porch | We stopped in the driveway on the way home to capture this pretty shot
Happy Birthday to me! That's my pretty sister Desirae behind me. |

Showing off a birthday gift |
||
Can you believe this giant pile of gifts?!! | Here's Gran, getting a head start on things
Mom is VERY impressed with something | I'm just happy to be here (and spoiled by this pile of gifts!)
This says, "Watch your kid, she may turn out like me" |
Everyone had to come check out Dad's big gift from Desirae and Justin - a lift kit for his new truck. |
|
Here the guys are enjoying Eric's new toy - tabletop Ice Hockey |

|
||
Playing games with Gran & Aunt Glenda
Gran, plotting her moves in another game of Dominos | Here's all the girls - not quite ready for the picture
Now we're ready! |
Gran, opening her birthday gifts |
|
Here's me with Larry & Glenda | This is Mom's beautiful cat - Momma Kitty
Desirae & Justin's dog Cooter and his new friend | Justin - lookin' hot in Desirae's new wig
|
||
Looks like I got a shot of everyone but Desirae wearing her cute wig! |
||
Mom's friend Mary came over with her Mom to bring treats | Justin's Mom Debbie also came over to visit us on Christmas Day
|
||
Here's Mom crashed on the couch with Momma
Kitty taking full advantage of the snuggle opportunity |
||
On Friday we took a walk on
Herbert Wyle's land in Lincoln |
||
Here's Eric looking studly in his orange hunting hat | A shot of a rock formation on the bluff line
One of Herbert's dogs, a sweet but silly one who kept us company on our walk. |
||
Eric, descending into a cave area
Shots of the bluffs and some of the formations
Sheep on top of the hill |
||
A shot up at a tree on top of the bluffs
An arête that Eric would truly love to climb |
More sheep, a different kind of long-haired sheep this time |
|
Here's a blurry shot of Old Main - the oldest building at the University of Arkansas. They light it up at Christmas time and it can be seen all over town. |
||
We spent a fun evening on Friday night with our
friends Andrew & Catherine Nixon. However, I forgot to take a picture of us! Darn it, guess we'll just have to try again next time.... |
