Again with the same views, I know, I can't help myself.  One of my favorite events of the year is the Toast of the Town event at the Indian Springs Golf Course.
This was the beautiful and amazing charcuterie table we enjoyed, along with amazing appetizers & desserts.

Larry & Lisa, our partners in fun!   Me & E and a pretty flower.

The silent auction table, I won TOO much this year!   The view into Canada from the golf course, so lovely.

Back at home, Buddy's fan club wants to watch him play fetch.   That adorable Bambi.  No telling what his actual name is, I give them my own names.

No one loves us like FT and Sweet Pea loves us.   Eric has been fighting a long, hard battle this summer to keep the ditch free of fallen dead trees.
Just when he thought he was done for the year, this big boy fell over.  But at least it's not harming
the flow of water so it can wait until the ditch is dry.

Normally I avoid shirtless photos on this family-friendly site, but it was too funny seeing
the look on Buddy's face when Eric wanted to pick him up.  He's saying, "Oh no you don't!"
The king of our household.  Everybody knows it, I may as well admit it.

Doing a spot of trespassing so that we could admire the amazing bridge put in by one of our neighbors.  Next up - a 7 mile, 4+ hour hike to Gibralter Ridge.  With Dan, Amy, Larry, and Lisa.

My first photos were taken 3 hours into the hike, which were all uphill.
I needed everything I had to keep up, I had no energy to take photos!
After 3 hours of hiking, we encountered the first trail sign I saw.
Thank goodness my family knows where all the trails are!

He's so photogenic.  Snack time!

Looking down on Therriault Pass.   And just to the right is Big Therriault Lake. That little white spot at the back is the parking lot.

This shows Therriault Pass with Glen Lake off to the left.  Lisa, loving life.  This is her favorite hike. She sees Therriault Pass out her bedroom window.

.Eric and Dan have the same sun snarl.  Lisa took this group photo, but Buddy was asking to be picked up so I missed it.

At the top, figuring out where everything is.   The guys sharing a laugh.

The guys sent us ladies out on this ridge, hopefully because it would make a good picture and
not trying to get rid of us!
Group photo at the summit. Buddy does not like being held over big dropoffs.

Selfie at the summit.  Lisa took this pretty shot on the way back down, which we did FAST.

Now we're at God's House for Uncle Tim's 80th birthday party.

Rose didn't do 80 candles or we'd have had a fire hazard.   Tim, enjoying being the center of attention.

Enjoying a walk with Mark & Nicole.  Eric always picks an apple along the way.  Views from parts of our property that we don't visit very often.

Buddy always follows Eric out there, but as soon as Eric turns around,
Buddy says, "I'm outta here!"
This is a trick Buddy has taught Eric.  As soon as we turn the TV off, Buddy jumps into
the floor and flips over, so Eric has to get down on the carpet and do belly rubs.Good Eric.

This is in my sewing room and it means, "You have been sewing for too long!"   One day Buddy & I were walking on the irrigation ditch, trapped between the lake and the
ditch, when we realized there was a cattle drive coming straight toward us.

Thankfully Dan was in the lead and he gave us a ride in his UTV.
Here he dropped us off at our bridge where we could watch from safety.
Here they come, hot on his heels!

And more, and more, and more.  There was a lot of poop on the ditch road after that!   Next was the Kalispell Quilt Show.  I didn't enter anything this year, but I did help hang quilts.
I'm one of the few youngsters "the under 70 crowd" who can climb ladders, so I help out.

This was my favorite quilt in the show, made by Kathleen L.

This one is also beautiful.  Made by Dawn S.   I don't know who made this, but it's a clever way to do a lone star without
so much point-matching.

They showed the Eureka Quilts for Heroes quilts as part of a special 250th birthday
display at the show.  This was one of two quilts I donated to QFH this year.
This is the other one.  At the Eureka show, the attendees vote on their favorite QFH quilt.
That quilt stays in Eureka and is given to a veteran at the school in November.
My secret - it's this one!

After picking up Buddy from Doggie Daycare, I thought he was owed a treat.
Here we are sharing chairs at Mod Pizza where we shared my Hawaiian thin crust.

Kalispell is the fastest growing city in Montana and I read it has lost 40% of its farmland since
2020.  I wanted to take a photo of this field while it was still a field, because the rest of them
seem like they are housing additions now.
This is a newspaper photo of the canola fields that I love. One of them is becoming a very dense
housing area now.  I hope someone can afford to keep a few of these canola fields in production.

Fence crawlers, jail breakers, trouble makers - they put themselves back when they're done.    Me & Buddy on an eBike ride, he loves those.

This is how he looks when it's time for an eBike ride.   Eric, setting up a trail cam on an old apple tree.  We picked this spot
because of the huge pile of bear poo on the ground in the foreground.

It looked bigger in 3-D.   Every year the Eureka Community Players does a cemetery tour.  It's a great
chance to learn some history about our local cemetery and an entertaining afternoon.

People dress up and read a script written as though they were the person buried there.
It's neater than I make it sound.
There had been a bunch of round bales here for years.  Mark finally hauled them away and it
became party central for the herd.  They LOVED hanging out up here, stomping on that hay.

At God's House for Dallas' birthday.  He was thrilled to get some cards with money inside, and let
everyone know how their gift stacked up against the others.  It was funny.
My flowers are really going strong now.

Seems like they reach their peak when the threat of frost starts to happen.  Those little bits are like micro flowers inside the flower.  God does great work.

I did Google Lens to learn what type of mushrooms these are, but now I've forgotten.  Sorry!   Next was a trip for me off to Ocean City Maryland with Desirae.  We were supposed to be going
to a 3 day music festival.  Instead, we learned first-hand what a Nor'easter was.  (It's a big storm.)

The week before and the week after this were sunny and 80's.  We got 50's,
25 to 30 mph winds, and flooding.  This is the boardwalk.  They have webcams here
so we had Mom watch the webcam while we waved at her, we thought it was fun.
Not the vacation we hoped for, but at least we were together.  We gave ourselves 15 minutes each
morning to mourn what we should have been doing that day, then we made the best of what we had.

It was tricky getting around downtown without getting wet.  The flooding eventually
closed this part of town.
Bummer!!  There were going to be so many great acts there!

Someone's FB post about the view from the beach from the extra high tides.   Another cute meme from FB.

This was a photo of the festival from a previous year...

And this was the festival grounds that weekend.

On Saturday, we spent the day in Philadelphia.  Neither of us had visited before and
were impressed with how much the city had to offer.  We really enjoyed our bus tour.
The friendship gate in Chinatown.  We also saw the "Rocky stairs", but
we didn't get a photo.

There was a huge line to see the Liberty Bell, so I nabbed this off Google Images instead. We went to Reading Terminal which is a HUGE food court with 70 businesses inside.
We got authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and enjoyed them very much.

The next day Desirae flew out first, and I took a tour of Baltimore.  This is the harbor area.  A neat church along the way.

By far the best part was Fort McHenry.  We watched a movie there about the writing of the
Star Spangled Banner, which was very moving and patriotic.  I loved it.
Back at home, enjoying a beautiful sunrise.  Which happens much later this time of year!

I love the yellow trees in the golden light, reflected in the glassy water.  Perfection!   Next come the best of our trail cam photos this fall.  A deer still exists on our ranch, woo hoo!

Me, enjoying a bike outing.  Buddy is ahead of me.   This poor deer has some antler issues.

Trying to keep up with my man on an evening walk.  We are so rude to intrude on his privacy!

Baby elk.  We didn't get a photo of the mother.  Me & the Budster, out for another ride.

Morning stretch.  Family walk. Eric has his hat in the super stylish position.

I left the time codes on this series of photos.  This poor deer goes through and about 5
coyotes follow in the next 2 minutes.

Mule train!  They love to follow each other around the place.   Turkey party - let's dance!!

Buddy helping me with one of my quilts.   Pictures from home - this is a lovely shot of my beautiful High School, Westville High.

Desirae, cousin Amanda, her daughter Emily, and Mom - all sporting beautiful ribbon skirts.  Mom was the honorary football captain at a Westville football game this month.
Didn't she look beautiful?
