Each year there's a time when Going to the Sun road is closed to cars but open to bikers and hikers.  It's the best time of the year!  We do this trip every single year and it never gets old.  It's just so beautiful - especially to eyes that have been starved of sun for a long winter.

Early glimpses of the beauty ahead.   Logan Creek is always roaring at this time of year.

Amy, standing on a rock but enjoying being taller than me for a change!

Eric, showing his best, "I'm having a great time" face.

Amy is better at showing her joy!    Me & E on a beautiful day.

We picked a terrible spot to stop for a snack - there were amazing views in only 3 directions! :-)

Larry & Lisa were trying to enjoy peanut M&M's, a Larry favorite.

Poor Eric was trying to eat, but I wanted more pictures taken.

Our lunch spot was right beside Logan Creek Bridge. Here it is now, 99 years old!

So what do you do when you're on a 99 year old bridge?
If you're Eric - you climb it!

Jeb is coming in hot!  The rest of the gang is way back there.

Eric started dipping his helmet into the waterfalls each time we'd stop.

Jeb heading into the tunnel.  That big cloud that looks like dust was actually clouds of pollen!

Looking out of the tunnel.  It's looking a bit old and patched in places!   Eric, thinking about climbing again.

Next stop, Heaven's Peak.  Lisa took this one.

Here's Heaven's Peak now.  Almost 9,000 feet and very inaccessible.
The Blackfeet called it, “Where God Lives.”
Next we went a very short way up the Granite Park hiking trail to see a small waterfall.

 Upstream Downstream

Larry & Lisa Lisa took this one - thanks Lisa!

WHAT?!  We were unexpectedly turned around just after the loop.  This was far earlier than
usual.  They had a lot of vehicle traffic ahead and so they closed the road very early.

Eric, doing the helmet-dip trick again.

 Views on the way out.

Trying to get a group selfie wasn't working...

So we talked a random stranger into taking this one for us.  Thanks random guy!

And thanks Glacier Park for being so beautiful!
