February

Our snow almost completely melted...and then it returned.  Oh well, it's February in northern Montana - what can I expect?!

Any blue sky days in February are worth celebrating with pictures and a walk. Here we are out on the ice, notice Buddy is on a leash due to previous poor listening skills.

Rose did a very nice thing for her daughter-in-laws, she prepared us a fancy multi-course dinner
complete with handmade Valentines, gifts, and thoughtful treats.  It was very special!

Eric got a sliver in his finger when loading the fireplace during the night.
He eventually got it out and found it was the size of a partial toothpick!

Buddy & I saw some interesting impressions in the snow - here, bird's wings.

Here, a mouse was running for it's life.  I think it managed to get away.  Right or wrong,
that's what I'm going to believe anyway.

Look - the sky can be blue, I had forgotten!!

The fresh snow and blue skies make everything look extra beautiful.

Buddy loves his walks and then suddenly, he's done.  He flies back to
the house at light speed and waits very impatiently for me to catch up.
My sweet parents sent me some spring sunshine for Valentine's Day -
special delivery from Oklahoma!   They were gorgeous.

When it's too cold & windy for walks, a good bone is the next best thing.

Or, a good strip of deer hide.  He was so proud of finding this one.

Cheri & Terrie did so much work to put on this retreat - including designing the patterns,
testing them, and making up samples.  Also they made up the mystery part of the event
which included puzzles and clues and a cute story that went along with it.  AND they fed us!

Some friends of mine hosted this amazing two-day quilt event here in town.  It was a mystery
project as well as solving a murder mystery.  I won the amazing prize by solving the mystery!!

Cheri with one of the sample quilts. After the retreat, we were having some sunshine so Buddy & I sat on the porch to soak it up.

That's a dog who has lived with gray skies for 4 months!!

Spoiled dog, wanting me to do something to entertain him.

Our flat-bottomed girl, Lily.  This is how she enjoys sunshine.

Our group hangs quilts in the local Senior Center each month, here is
one of my current favorites.  Some of my toppers are off to the right side.

Check out this amazing moonrise!

I felt so blessed to look out the window at just the right time to see this.

Lily always wants to snuggle, but the other two just want her to go away.

Here are two quilts I made this month that I am particularly proud of.  This was part of a group project which took one year to complete.  It's more complex than what I usually do!
