The month started with a bang in my home town of Westville, OK.
They got hit by a tornado.  Thankfully my parents stayed safe, they
spend a couple of hours in the storm shelter but had no damage.

They sent me some pictures of the after-effects.

There is a LOT of clean up to do!   Meanwhile, in Montana, we headed out to another of our group hikes.
This one to Therriault Pass.

Jeb was way out in front, he's half mountain goat.

There wasn't snow in the valley at the time, but there was about 2"
on the trail and it snowed hard on us on the way out of there.

Here Amy & Eric look at tracks in the snow.

We saw fresh bobcat tracks many times on this hike.  Big tracks!   Taking an Eric-mandated rest break so that I wouldn't pass out.

It was so crisp and clear when we first approached the pass.

The snow makes everything more beautiful, until March when you start to hate it.

In just a short time, the fog started to roll in and blocked our view so we headed back out.   I attended a food & fashion show at the local Sunflower Moose clothing store, it was fun!

Rose, wearing the apron Mom made for her.  This was the first of two dinners she hosted
this month.  This one was in honor of Colt's 13th birthday.
Mark, Dan Jr, and Eric waiting for grub.

We had a few beautiful days to tease us before winter sets in.

Buddy offers his assistance with floor cleaning or scrap processing.

Snow in the mountains for sure!

Work still going on with the giant GLID project at the end of the lake.

Beautiful light on the snowy mountains.  Love those blue skies!

It was so clear, it seemed like you could see each individual tree on the mountains.

We had so many swans this year, it was great.  They stayed until the lake froze over.

This captures swans on the lower left, two formations of geese (flying north for some reason),
and the snow in the mountains on a blue sky day.  God does great work!

My "you've been sewing too long" alert just went off.   We had a lovely group outing to Kalispell, a group dinner of 10 followed by a
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas concert.  Snow had started the day before
and the roads were quite slippery going home, but we all made it safely, thankfully!

When the snow came, it snowed and snowed and snowed.  We got about 12 inches of
heavy, wet snow with no wind so it really piled up.

The light is too bright for good fireplace napping!

Mark moved his horses to our house because we have a heated trough.   Unfortunately, Harmony kept crossing our cattle guards so he had to take them back home.

The fresh snow really made the horses frisky.  They were kicking up their heels and
having a great time.

It finally stopped snowing for awhile so we
took Buddy out for an evening walk.

 (Which was probably 5pm!)

It was very beautiful.

Unfortunately, many of our friends and family were out of power for up to 4 days.
The heavy snow kept breaking trees so they'd fix one problem and another tree would fall.

He smelled a mouse and his terrier instincts kicked in.  He really wanted that mouse.

Eric kept making Buddy go into snow that was deeper than he is tall!
He would hop like a bunny when he got our of our tracks.

His hot breath melted a big hole in a short time, he enjoyed that!

Eric giving Gunner some lovin'.  He's a very affectionate horse.    A look at our house with most of the Christmas lights up.

Eric petting both horses in the snow.

I tried to photograph Gunner but he wanted love.

We enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving meal at Kootenai Christian Fellowship.  I forgot to
bring anything, we got to be first in line (because we're old) and we didn't stay to help
clean up. So we were terrible guests, but felt very spoiled!  Grateful for our wonderful church.
Buddy, wanting to explore in snow that's much deeper than he is tall.

Thanksgiving at Jeb & Amy's.  The men gather in the living room for football.

Mark, Colter, Dan Sr., Dallas, Dan Jr., Eric

This one includes Jeb, who smiled for me.

Colter & Dallas, putting on the charm.

Mark and the daughter of a family friend.

Lane, Amy, and Aubrey.  Amy & I were undefeated Sequence champs that day.   Rose & Dan slept through most of the game while the boys yelled at the TV around them.

All the young people plus Jeb started a super-long game of Catan.

Colter had a new puppy, Spur, and I cannot believe I didn't get a picture of that adorable guy!

Eric started feeling puny so we left early.  Turns out he had a man cold, tragic!

Taking Buddy for a walk in the Historical Village.  The town deer do not
run, they stomp and head toward you, so we gave them a wide berth.

Our second meal that Rose provided at God's House.  This is to celebrate the many
birthdays that occur in November, including Rebecca, Josie, Sam, Dan Jr., Rose, Jeb,
and Noah.  Carter & Hanna provided two worship songs for us.
Dallas, Kristi, Amy, Jeb, Lucas, Dan Jr, and Larry

On a blue sky day I got out the zoom lens to capture some mountain majesty.

The lake froze over quickly during this cold snap.
Two coyotes started roaming around on the ice
at all times of the day, even the middle of the day.

A super clear day had me getting my zoom lens out again.

Larry's house in this shot gives a great perspective of that massive mountain.
