September 2024 |

Eric was out of town when Buddy & I discovered a dead skunk on our walking path. |
|
Skunk Skeleton. That area stank for weeks!
Eric returned in time for the Toast of the Town event at beautiful Indian Springs Golf Course. |
|
I'm trying to enjoy lunch on the porch, but I feel like I'm being watched.
It's a silent auction fundraiser with live music and wine and very tasty appetizers. |
|
Eric had to settle for a non-Topo Chico fizzy water, but otherwise we enjoyed it. Here we are with our good friend Casey. |
|
GLID had to turn the ditch off for awhile and as it got low, the crawdad activity was heavy. | While Buddy was watching the crawdads, this muskrat kept swimming closer and closer. |
I was just about to intervene when it turned around and left the area. | Here we are at one of Aubrey's volleyball games, Aubrey is on the far
right. They were undefeated this year! Sadly, Aubrey tore her ACL in one of the final games of the year. |
Family (plus Marcie, who is practically family) gathering while waiting for Aubrey after the game. |
This is how it looks here in winter - it's not supposed to happen in September!! |
Mom sent me a basket of cheer in the form of some mums, they were just
about to |
|
Another volleyball game and I was lucky enough to sit by this guy!
Eric cleaning out the drop on one of our many walks.

We had just gotten the Flathead Quilt Show all set up and a breeze knocked a row and a half of it all down! We try so hard to keep the quilts from ever touching the ground and then this happened. My role at this show (besides ladder climbing) was Quality Control, so it was my job to make sure it all got put back straight and neat. We got 'er done! |
A tour of my quilts in the Flathead Quilt Show. Mine is the
mountain quilt in the |
|
My Spirited Horse quilt, back up off the floor.
Sweetly Stitched Mystery, the one I made at a 2-day retreat with friends. | Modern Baby, in the lower right. This was the "Small Theme"
category, small modern quilts. Mine was super simple compared to the others, but I still like the quilt. |
This is it's big brother, a queen sized version of the same pattern. | The Outreach team displayed some of their donation quilts and just happened to choose one that I'd made. |
Interlocked. I love this quilt but it doesn't seem to do it for
others. Oh well. |
Cedarcrest Falls. This one eventually was purchased by Rose for my nephew Cody. |
Vintage Reds. It was hung sideways and I was the Quality Control
person, but I decided it didn't matter. |
This Woodland Critters quilt won it's second 3rd place ribbon. |
While I was supposed to be doing hostess duties, I was having people |
|
This is not mine, but was one of my favorites from the show. I put this pattern into my Christmas wish list! |
|
More of my favorite quilts from the show, both from vendor booths - showing off new patterns. |
|
|
I love the fabrics Merrie picked for this cute quilt. |
The Flathead Quilt Show team. I played only the tinest part, which is great considering how much work went into the EMQS show in August! |
|
Jeb & Amy bought an investment property in the Wilderness
Club , it's a local resort |
|
The timber design in living room is dramatic and very unique. | The lovely kitchen area, and the outdoor space goes on and on. |
We started doing group hikes this fall. This was our first outing. | We all wanted to do Stahl Peak the 'short way', as we'd done the
5-mile hike before but wanted to do the 3- mile version. Amy is a great guide! |
Casazzas pointing, who'd have guessed? |
|
There are lots of things to see in the Ten Lakes district!
Amy & Eric with Amy's Scottish friend Helen, she's fun. | Beautiful views all along the trail. |
At the top! Unfortunately, there was a bitterly cold wind at the top
so we didn't spend much time enjoying the scenery. From here you can see into Canada, Glacier Park, Lake Koocanusa, the Yaak, and more. |
|
Larry & Buddy were braver than I was!
We mostly hung out in the lookout when we were on top. | Group photo! |
|
Thankfully it was nice again as soon as we got back into the trees. |
Buddy & I sometimes go walking near a small sawmill because rabbits hide in the logs. This time he had to mark the giant sawdust pile as "his". |
|
|
|
My friend Kip saw a frost was coming, so she opened up her flower garden for me to pick all I wanted. I love her beautiful flowers and gained a whole new respect for her flower arranging skills, as I don't have them! |
|
Trail cam shots - jillions of this squirrel hiding things in this hole... | Then various birds coming to try to steal things out of his hidey hole. |
And wow, wasn't this a surprise!?! A whole lot of nature was captured with this trail cam!
